July will be a busy month on the Te Hōnonga a Iwi Restoring Rosedale Park with four community events scheduled.
Matariki Celebration Our first event this month is our Matariki Celebration which will incorporate a blessing for the new Pou Whenua (rock sign) that’s being installed at the site. The ceremony will be followed by refreshments at the National Hockey Centre in Bush Road.
Date: Saturday, 8 July Time: 9am-11.30am Location: Restoration site behind Hilton Brown Swimming in Volkner Place, followed by the National Hockey Centre Parking: Either at the National Hockey Centre and walk down the road to the site or near North Harbour softball and walk across the bridge. There is no parking at Hilton Brown Swimming. Details: Bring raincoats and gumboots. We will go ahead rain or shine but any changes to arrangements due to adverse weather will be posted on our Facebook and Instagram page.
Community working bees We have two community working bees planned for July so try to get along to one of these.

Schools study day This is a great opportunity for local students to learn about environmental sustainability. It will include a whanaungatanga introductory session by Sustainable Schools lead Anna Harrison, a presentation on business sustainability management, making seed bombs for Te Hōnonga a Iwi’s site and a question and answer session with a soil expert.
